This tool combines local IP2Location geolocation and ASN databases with a live reverse DNS query. It helps identify the approximate network location, the autonomous system announcing the address, and the public network range containing it.
Understanding IP geolocation and ASN data
IP geolocation estimates where an address block is used. Country data is generally more reliable than city coordinates. An ASN identifies the network operator announcing the route; it does not necessarily identify the person, website, or company using the address.
Common issues
Recently reassigned ranges can show older ownership or location data. Mobile and anycast addresses may appear far from the user. Many valid public addresses do not publish reverse DNS records.

How accurate is IP geolocation?
Country-level results are generally more reliable than city coordinates. The location represents an estimated network area, not a precise device or household.
What does the ASN identify?
An Autonomous System Number identifies the network that announces the IP range on the public internet. The organization shown is the network operator, which may differ from the website owner.
Does an ASN identify the IP address owner?
It identifies the network announcing the address range. The end user, hosted website, or customer using the address may be a different organization.
What is a reverse DNS lookup?
It queries the PTR record associated with an IP address to find a hostname published by the address owner.
Can this tool look up private IP addresses?
No. Private, loopback, link-local, reserved, and other special-purpose ranges are blocked.
